Our curatorial team reaches out to individual artists we think would be a good fit for Fresh Gesso. Currently we do not solicit submissions. If you are interested in becoming a part of Fresh Gesso you can email your unsolicited proposal. Please be sure to include your email, phone number, CV, and 10 hi-res images of your work, preferably in a single PDF. We do not respond to all unsolicited submissions.
Connecting first time collectors, buyers, institutions, and art investors with emerging artists. In this we take care of the sales process, paperwork, coordinating shipping, and support to take as much work off the artists hands as possible.
Of course, you can email us individually or as a team to schedule a studio visit. Depending on where you are located, we will do these either in person or over zoom, but in person is preferred.
Think of us more like a gallery! There are no fees associated with consignment or being on our roster, just the commission from artwork sales.
We retain 40% commission on artwork consigned with Fresh Gesso. This helps us manage our costs of promoting and facilitating the sale of your work. These commission rates are always outlined in our artist consignment contracts. We aim to keep our commission low to ensure artists receive the majority of profits.
The buyer pays for shipping. This cost is in addition to the artwork price.
We generally consign work for 6 or 12 months.
We usually will consign between 3-6 artworks at a time.
No, unfortunately, we cannot currently store artwork, but we are working toward it.

While we do not have a permanent location, we do pop up exhibitions and other events generally in New York City and the Northeast.
Our founders all live in the greater New York City metropolitan area and the Hudson Valley in New York.
