Scott Vander Veen is a multidisciplinary artist. He received his undergraduate degree in studio art from Bard College and an MFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design. He has spent time as a fellow at Penland School of Craft and Ox-Bow School of Art and is a Windgate Fellowship Grant recipient. He was recently a Keyholder Resident at the Lower East Side Print Shop. His work has been shown in New York at Ortega Y Gasset, Springs Projects, Field Projects, The New York Studio School, Andrew Reed Gallery, and many DIY and artist-run spaces. His work has also been shown in Los Angeles at Stowaway and Abigail Ogilvy as well as in Boston, Providence, Richmond, and Chicago. His approach to art-making is omnivorous in its methods and utilizes materials such as: wood, silk, paper, latex, canvas, glue, grommets, plaster, rubber drain plugs, misappropriated text, paint, zippers, found photographs, and silver.
