Sylvie Mayer (b. 1996, Providence, Rhode Island) is a painter whose layered oil paintings explore themes of interiority and impermanence. She holds a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (2018) and an MFA in Painting from Boston University (2025). Mayer is a two-time recipient of grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation (2023 & 2024) and has received the Joseph Ablow Memorial Prize in Painting from Boston University and the Florence Leif Award in Painting from RISD. She currently lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions including Where the Time Goes at Magic Sad Gallery (2023) and What Would They Have Wanted? at Artspace at Untitled (2022), and has been included in group exhibitions in the United States and abroad. She has participated in residencies at the Vermont Studio Center (2025) and Mass MoCA (2025).
