Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1989, Natalie Conway currently lives and works in Philadelphia. Having studied Biochemistry for three and a half years, she graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Psychology and Philosophy in 2012. Her minor in Art, however, was closer to her core purpose, and she scrapped her plan to become a cognitive scientist. Returning to the same university to take painting courses, she also studied at the Mount Gretna School of Art in Pennsylvania in 2014 and the Yale Norfolk Summer School of Art in 2015. After supporting her painting practice as a freelance tutor, she devoted herself to public service and the promotion of critical thinking in the wake of the 2016 election. For five years she taught art and art history at the public high school she attended in Fayetteville, but found herself increasingly dedicated to her own work in the studio, and decided to finally take herself seriously as an artist. She received her MFA in Painting from Boston University in 2024.
